Of course, we know that Gabaldon doesn’t write in a straight line. This all took her away from writing the ninth book. Gabaldon also wrote some of the novellas and episodes for the Outlander series. The ninth book took longer due to more press appearances thanks to the TV series. There may be a chance that the time to write can be reduced. That’s a long time, but there will be at least two more seasons of the TV series while we wait. If we go with the seven years for Outlander Book 10, we’re looking at the end of 2028 as a release date.
